Serialization

1. Maison Martin Margiela Tokyo Store
2. Brian Jungen Cetology, 2002

A rail of luxury items in a sterilized surrounding. Artefacts of mass market production reworked into prehistoricalist sculptures. Hold together by the linear order of our culture's white spine.

Undoubtedly

Maison Martin Margiela Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2011

Earlier today, the infamous Maison fulfilled a Horst prophecy and presented transparent suits and plastic raincoats. Besides, the post-baroque Hotel Maison Champs Elysées delivered the backdrop for brutalist motorcycle jackets and tape-draped evening dresses.

Giving myself over to the principles of obsession. I am not innocent. I am not living the lie. I do what I preach. I am what I write. I can't be tamed. My homage to Margiela and Mapplethorpe.

Polythene Wrap Fight

Maison Martin Margiela Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2011 vs. Bruce LaBruce Hustler White

Many people ask me: Horst, what to wear on Valentine's Day? Well, there surely are plenty of possibilities. But my advice remains simple: Wrap yourself as a gift.

Le 22 Samedi

Collections Maison Martin Margiela, Bernhard Willhelm, Mihara Yasuhiro, Tillmann Lauterbach, Damir Doma, Raf Simons

9 shows, 1 presentation and Marc Jacobs gloves for 3 Euros. Mon jour en chiffres. The image quality is bad as always and photoshopped to death - but the colouration sums up this season's feeling of Paris quite well. Note: fluorescent belts and black plastic trousers at Raf Simons.

All good things must come to an end. But we'll cry no single tear, we'll walk in the rain. Well prepared, armoured in Margiela, Raf Simons or Jil Sander. As I said: All good things must come to an end.

Suggestion #4

Leather T-shirt, Maison Martin Margiela Fall/Winter 2010

I've desired this piece from the very first day. And I've tried to comfort myself with a vintage Nicole Farhi leather shirt. But it's not the same. I won't rest until my prayers have been heard.

The Unfeasible

Book 6+ Antwerp Fashion

The beauty of article scans. When I hold this publication in my hands and flipped through its pages I instantly knew: I want it. I need it. The disillusion: It's not available anymore. So if anyone wants to shake it off those dusty shelves, here I am. Willing to take loving care of it.

Ability

Maison Martin Margiela Spring/Summer 2011

The 'flat collection' might have been criticised for its lack of wearability. But I felt relieved. Finally consequence in an idea's execution. And actually so much things to wear and want.
