Topman Design Spring/Summer 2011

I fell in love with the Topman boy. We went camping together, roasted marshmallows over an open fire and washed our dirty clothes in a river nearby. Sometimes I wasn't quite sure if he was actually wearing shorts or a skirt.

Somehow swayed by previous Yves Saint Laurent collections, I took inspiration across the seasons and matched voluminous trousers with a fitted vest that, once put together, evoked the look of a jumpsuit. At least I imagined so.

Colour. And flowers. I agree it is a reference to the minimalist core of an early Jil Sander. Accordingly pure is the self-repetition of Raf Simons and his encounter with waist-conscious tailoring and a short shorts spirited mind.
