my approved 140 doesn't have much details abt the proposed job instead it's is written as see labour for job requirements...
so where wld I get these codes?
It was given on LC copy. Also, some one last year posted a URL to DOL website where all the LC in each particular year where published as a part of public disclosure. I could actually found mine with my company name, date, salary and some guestmates. I will post the URL if I can find it back.

Could be a DV case, could be family based, could be immediate family, could be anything. In fact EB cases are only about 200k out of 1,2 mil GCs issued last year (see immigration-law.com for a recent statistic). Backlogged does not mean unavailable.

The Hritik Roshan, Govinda and Daniel Craig (James Bond) images in the user profile section of each post in forum threads are quite distracting. What's the point of this feature, anyways?
I would like to put a face to every alias I come across, but not Hritik's, Govinda's or Daniel Craig's even if the resemblance with you is shocking! :)
Just removed the small image I had in my signature as well.

I am not sure about others, but since IV changed the look of this webpage, something is discouraging me from being as active as i was before. I gave myself sometime to adjust but that does not seem to happen.
Admins, please do some stats on hits, number of posts by users etc and see how the new look impacted the site activity?
Two points that I am not a fan of:
1) The front page top 10 forum items still need to be improved. We need complete text display (wrapped if long), the tooltip is not working. I do not want to mouse over every thread to read it completely.
2) User images (i know i have one myself) are making the webpage cluttered and distracting from the real content.

Hello All,
My I485 was filed at TSC and received date is July 26,2007 and notice date is sept 19,2007. MY EAD and AP and other finger prints are done after two months of filed. My priority date (Jun10, 2003) is current for last two months and it is going to retogress after this month end.There is no update for I485 for me and my wife. Now processing times for TSC shows they are working on Aug 08, 2007 filers. In this case cane youguys advice me on following things?
1. Is it good to take Info pass appointment and go for office before end of this month (as it is going to retrogress) and find out status? Before info pass do i need to get any other enquiry?
2. Processing dates for TSC-I485 shows Aug 08, 2007. Is this date recevied date or I485-Notice date?
3.Does Info-pass enquiry cause any negative effects on my I485 processing?
4. Any other guys in the same boat and what you guys are doing?
I really appreciate your advice. Thanks in advance for your good work.

Logically, there shouldn't be any issues as you have a G-28 for all required forms.
Let me take this opportunity to tell you I have immensely enjoyed your to the point messages and quotes.
I got a bunch that has photocopies from my lawyer of everything that went out to USCIS. 485, EAD, AP for myself and my wife.
Everything is ok, except that there is an extra copy of G 28 each for myself and my wife and these extra copies are not signed by attorneys.
In the middle of the package, right above the 485 forms, there are G28 forms that are properly signed. Everywhere else there is signatures where needed. But at the bottom of the bunch, there is extra G28 for each one of us that is missing signature from the attorney.
Could this be a problem? Also, where is the URL for USCIS FAQ that states under what conditions that petitions can boomerang back to us?

Current Status: Case received and file gathering dust waiting for visa number.
On MM DD, YYYY, we received this application and mailed you a document describing how we process it. But you do not need to bother. Our system is so screwed up that we did not know how many cases we had pending. We did not communicate with DOL and DOS properly; so we ended up causing the July Visa Bulletin fiasco, which actually screws up your case even more if you were not one of the lucky applicants to have actually obtained your GC. But your increased fees for EAD & AP renewals have afforded us new janitors, so we will try to keep your files dust free.
P.S : If you are an advanced degree holder born in India. Hahahaha.

i think it should be ok because some apply with non-availability certificate instead of birth certificate since they cant get one. Usually it depends on the immigration officer who reviews your petition at that time and what decision he takes. disclaimer: But check with your immigration attroney as I'm nt an attroney.
if possible get one with first/last name, i think it is easier to show the existing one and get new one because existing one has parents details too. dont take chances in I-485, because if anyone get RFE (query) then it will delay your case atleast a month or two, because you have to resend one again.

You are not the only one to get that message. Info pass appointments are tough to get now. Check during odd hours. I finally found one after hours. ASC's are NOT the same as Field offices. Also Some Field offices require you to show the corresponding state drivers license.
Since my current EAD is expiring Sep 10th, I'm planning to go to the local USCIS office for an interim EAD in first week of Sep.
What is the procedure, do i need to take infopass or any other apoointment or just walk in with papers ?
It's not yet been 90 days since i filed, but i still want to give it a shot. I plan to take a letter from my employer saying without interim EAD (without me being able to work) company would face a setback in a critical phase of project.
I also plan to use such a letter in support of an expedite request.
Gurus please advice:
- How soon should I fax expedite request?
- How soon/late should i go to local USCIS office for interim EAD?
- Could one interfere the other?

I am confused by why the priority dates for EB2 is worse than EB3. Could someone explain?
It's because of retrogression. Example....
Case 1:
John applied in EB3 in 2002, had his labor/140 cleared.
John changed companies in 2005, now was eligible for EB2. Used older priority date.
Now John has 2002 PD in EB2.
Case 2:
BEC labors coming through.
Case 3:
Non-RIR cases getting approved (note that non-RIR labor takes a long time, ~4-5 yrs)
Whether to choose EB-2 or EB-3 is hard.
Fresh blood coming on H1 will typically be EB3. But by the time their visa numbers
become available, they might move to EB2. Or maybe they won't if EB2 worsens. Right
now I think it's a fair game between the 2 categories (IMHO).
If 140 premium starts again, then it might get crazy. Apply for new PERM (choose the least retrogressed category), apply for 140.....all in 5-6 months. Now port your PD from
whatever earlier 140 you had.
